Don’t know where Pinky unearthed this one. It’s a Nu-Jazz mix I gave to him back in 2000 which must have ended up on his ‘to listen’ pile, which evidently is so deep that it took him nearly four years to get to this! Anyhow the mix comes from the time that I was buying alot of Nu-Jazz, scouring stores for the newest Jazzanova remix and Compost Records releases. Included is the wonderfully moody Atjazz remix of Kimbu Kimra’s Raise The Dead and to my mind the best Jazzanova remix, that of Ski Oakenfull’s Fifths (darl electro jazz!) plus the fresh percussive vibes of the Rainer Trüby remix of Yasushi Ide’s A Certain Peace.
